Hatton Labs was founded in 2018 in London by Jack Brown, a former Goldsmiths University graduate and London jewellery designer, as a unisex contemporary jewellery brand built specifically around the British silver-and-pearl tradition reimagined for the post-2015 streetwear-meets-luxury conversation. The brand's foundational thesis was specific: produce contemporary jewellery — pearl necklaces, sterling silver chains, signet rings, ear cuffs — at the intersection of traditional British jewellery craft (the brand draws explicitly on the centuries-old London Hatton Garden jewellery district tradition) and the emerging 2010s-2020s streetwear-luxury vocabulary. The Hatton Labs vocabulary settled around several specific products: the iconic Pearl Necklace (Tahitian, freshwater, baroque, in shifting pearl sizes and stringing patterns that became the brand's defining product), heavyweight sterling silver curb chains, sterling silver signet rings with deliberately deconstructed surface engraving, the Daisy Chain pearl-and-silver hybrid necklace, and a colour palette anchored to silver, freshwater-pearl white, Tahitian-black-pearl gradient, and the brand's recurring use of saturated enamel-coated pieces. The brand has been worn by Drake, Tyler the Creator, A$AP Rocky, and broader hip-hop-and-streetwear celebrity adopters. The brand is independent and held by Brown. Hatton Labs operates a flagship retail concept at the Hatton Labs London store (Hackney, the brand's home neighbourhood) plus international wholesale through SSENSE, MR PORTER, MATCHES, Dover Street Market, GR8, Lane Crawford, and a small set of carefully chosen luxury jewellery specialty retailers globally. Few contemporary British jewellery brands of the post-2015 generation have built such a culturally specific 'streetwear-luxury' vocabulary while remaining anchored to the Hatton Garden craft tradition.
