Emerging Independent
Monstore
Monstore was launched in Bandung in 2009 by graphic designer Dendy Darman as a streetwear label filtered through the lens of a visual artist, describing itself as 'an art clothing line with our daily life as its scary tales.' Collections take wardrobe basics and overlay them with dark, dreamy graphics that pull from Indonesian film, comics, music and folk characters, treating each drop almost like an illustrated zine. Stocked across Tokopedia and Lazada and shown at Jakarta Fashion Week, Monstore is a longstanding fixture in the Bandung indie clothing community alongside Pot Meets Pop and Elhaus.
