NorBlack NorWhite
NorBlack NorWhite was launched in 2010 by Toronto-raised Indian-Canadian designers Mriga Kapadiya and Amrit Kumar after they moved to Bombay to reconnect with the country their families had left. The brand name rejects the fashion industry's binary thinking and is built on long-term collaborations with bandhani, ikat, block-print and other traditional Indian textile communities, framed in oversized, sportswear-rooted silhouettes. Cult favourites include the reversible BomBomber jacket, and the label is stocked globally as well as profiled by Vogue India, Three Magazine and Local Samosa as a touchstone for diasporic, craft-driven contemporary Indian fashion.
