Anthony Vaccarello

Born in Brussels to Italian parents, Anthony Vaccarello graduated from La Cambre in 2006 and won the Hyères Festival's Grand Jury Prize. He launched his eponymous Paris label in 2009, famed for sharp slashed jersey dresses and an unapologetic body-conscious silhouette. In 2014 Donatella Versace appointed him creative director of Versus Versace, the diffusion line, where his minimalist provocation reset the sub-brand's relevance. In April 2016 Kering installed him as creative director of Saint Laurent, succeeding Hedi Slimane. His near-decade tenure has consolidated YSL's smoking jacket, oversized blazer and razor-thin silhouette into one of the most consistent commercial brand identities in luxury, alongside a high-profile film-production arm (Saint Laurent Productions) launched in 2023.
