Founded

The Webster was founded in 2009 in Miami by Laure Hériard Dubreuil (a French-Cuban-American luxury-industry executive who had previously worked at Balenciaga, Yves Saint Laurent, and Tom Ford) as a multi-brand luxury concept store on Collins Avenue, Miami Beach. The flagship was housed in a 1939 Henry Hohauser-designed Art Deco building that had been a hotel before its restoration; the building's three-floor pastel-pink exterior and curated interior became one of the defining luxury-retail destinations of Miami Beach's 2010s-era cultural revival. The Webster vocabulary settled around several distinguishing things: a buyer-led brand list anchored to the major LVMH, Kering, and Richemont houses plus a particularly strong selection of contemporary independent designers (Loewe, Khaite, The Row, Toteme, Brock Collection, Stine Goya, Cecilie Bahnsen), the iconic Laure Hériard Dubreuil curated lifestyle product offering (art books, scented candles, decorative objects), the Webster Resort capsule programme of summer-and-resort exclusive collaborations, and a continuous run of in-store events with major fashion-press and luxury-industry visitors during Art Basel Miami Beach week. The Webster is independent and held by Hériard Dubreuil. The retailer operates flagships in Miami Beach (Collins Avenue, the original 2009 flagship), New York (107 Greene Street, Soho), Houston (River Oaks District), Los Angeles (Beverly Hills), Costa Mesa (South Coast Plaza), Bal Harbour (Bal Harbour Shops), Toronto, plus a substantial e-commerce platform. The retailer has been one of the defining US-anchored luxury concept stores of the post-2009 generation, with a particularly strong position in the Miami-Beach and New York Soho luxury-tourist conversation.
