Hed Mayner

Hed Mayner was founded in 2015 in Jerusalem by Hed Mayner, an Israeli designer who graduated from the Israeli Shenkar College of Engineering and Design. The brand's premise from the first collection was clear: build a menswear practice around oversized tailoring that combined the proportional language of Orthodox Jewish dress with the deconstructed approach of Belgian fashion education. The Hed Mayner vocabulary settled around several distinguishing signatures: dramatically oversized suiting, dropped shoulders that nearly meet the wrist, ankle-length coats, and an elongated proportion that recalls both the long black coats of Eastern European yeshiva life and the deliberate fashion provocations of late-1990s Margiela. The colour palette is dominantly black, white, ecru, and ink. The brand has shown at Paris Fashion Week men's since 2017 and won the LVMH Prize Karl Lagerfeld Special Prize in 2019. The brand operates from Tel Aviv with a small studio team and produces in Italy and Israel. Sales are through a curated international wholesale network including Dover Street Market, SSENSE, MR PORTER, and selected luxury boutiques. Mayner remains creative director and majority owner. Few young designers have built so coherent a proportional signature so quickly — and few have so consciously brought Orthodox Jewish dress proportions into the contemporary luxury conversation.
