Xhibition was founded in 2007 in Cleveland by Sue Burdick and Charissa Vest as a multi-brand streetwear and sneaker boutique in the city's Ohio City neighborhood that became one of the defining American Midwest curated streetwear retail operations across the post-2010 era. The Xhibition premise—that Cleveland could be the editorial reference point for a Midwest streetwear retail conversation that operated outside the Chicago-Detroit-Minneapolis Midwest axis—proved out commercially through the 2010s and led to the brand's expansion into a robust e-commerce program. The Xhibition vocabulary built up around a tightly edited mix of American, Japanese, and European streetwear and sneaker brands: Stüssy, Carhartt WIP, Aimé Leon Dore, Online Ceramics, Engineered Garments, Norse Projects, Comme des Garçons Play, plus the broader American and European designer-streetwear pipeline. The store's exceptional Nike collaboration program—the Xhibition x Nike Air Max series, plus the broader Xhibition x Nike Dunk and Air Force 1 pipeline—has produced collaboration releases that anchor the brand's identity inside the global sneaker culture conversation. Xhibition operates from its Ohio City Cleveland flagship plus its e-commerce platform. The store's customer base—heavily skewed toward Cleveland's creative-class and streetwear-curious customer network plus the broader American Midwest streetwear customer—treats Xhibition as one of the defining Midwest curated streetwear retail reference points. For Cleveland and broader Ohio customers building a curated streetwear-and-sneaker wardrobe through the post-2007 era, Xhibition has been one of the defining retail destinations.
